Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper phyllosilicate mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of copper ore deposits, often alongside malachite, azurite, and turquoise. Its color ranges from vivid turquoise to deep teal to pale blue-green, depending on the concentration of copper and the presence of trace minerals.

The name comes from the Greek words for gold (chrysos) and glue (kolla), a reference to its historical use in soldering gold. It has been prized since antiquity, used by ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Indigenous peoples of the Americas as both a decorative stone and a tool of communication and wisdom.

Do not soak in water, expose to salt, or use chemical cleaners. Do not use in water elixirs or gem waters, as copper minerals should never be ingested or used in water-based preparations.
