About the Gemstone

Emerald is a variety of the mineral beryl, colored green by trace amounts of chromium and sometimes vanadium. It is one of the four precious gemstones, alongside Diamond, Ruby, and Sapphire, and has been among the most prized stones on earth since at least 1500 BCE.

The finest Emeralds in the world come from Colombia, where the Muzo and Chivor mines have produced stones of unmatched color saturation and clarity for centuries.
