Malachite is a copper-based stone and should always be handled in its polished form. Do not use raw or unpolished malachite directly on the skin. These pieces are fully polished and safe for handling, meditation, and display. Always wash hands after extended handling as a precaution. Do not use malachite in gem elixirs or water infusions.

How to Work With It

Malachite is a relatively soft stone (Mohs hardness 3.5 to 4) and should be handled with care. Avoid dropping on hard surfaces. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak in water, expose to salt, or use chemical cleaners. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth and richness of its green color.
