Marcasite Oval Statement Ring, gemstone ring, size 11

This is a very large very interesting genuine marcasite oval cabochon cut gemstone that was hand selected by us.  We built a custom hand Hammered sterling silver ring band to support it, and set it in a rustic sterling bezel setting. the ring bands come all the way up the sides of the ring, allowing the stone to lie just above the finger, 

Marcasite has been a go to stone for jewelers since the time of the ancient Greeks. Compared to pyrite, Marcasite is paler and is sometimes called "white iron pyrite", although its not a pyrite. It's rarer and used more often in jewelry than Pyrite is today. When polished like this one, it has very interesting features, that glitter in the light, like a diamond, and make it a beloved stone by many.

This ring is a size 11

The stone measures approximately  42 x17 mm.
