►Mala Who? A Mala is a hand knotted necklace consisting of 108 beads which is traditionally used for keeping track of mantras during meditation. Many traditional malas feature a "Guru Bead" which is added at the bottom to help you keep your place, create intention, and remind you why you are meditating. It represents the teacher. There is also a Tassel on traditional Mala necklaces hanging below the Guru Bead. Recently, Malas have become extremely popular as they are a great style piece that can be worn by anyone! The term "Mala" comes from the Sanscrit translation meaning Meditation Garland.
