This Larsonite Gemstone ring was made from a natural gemstone that’s a real conversation piece! Not only can it speak to those who like gorgeous gemstones but also it has a really cool back story and tool Millions of years to make! This Approximately 1.5'' x1'' oval gemstone was set in a sturdy sterling silver bezel, which is wrapped with a decorative beaded rope and scallops. The band is a wide sterling silver shank with a sun pattern. The back of the ring is stamped with our hallmark, 925 stamp, along between where the ring shank connects, and a flower.
Why are we so fascinated with Larsonite? Also known as Gary Green Jasper, and Caldera Jasper, Larsonite is a petrified bogwood found on the Nevada / Oregon border. the patterns in the stone resemble cut limbs and often have amazing red blue and green banded colors. It formed in a Miocene age volcanic event! This event is documented to have happened somewhere between 11-14 million years ago. Wood, canes, cattails and creatures living in the bog were all petrified. The interesting colors of the material is caused by a combination of iron, aluminum, potassium, sodium and calcium replacing the original elements.
