►Metaphysical Properties
Why are we so fascinated with Larsonite? Also known as Gary Green Jasper, and Caldera Jasper, Larsonite is a petrified bogwood found on the Nevada / Oregon border. the patterns in the stone resemble cut limbs and often have amazing red blue and green banded colors. It formed in a Miocene age volcanic event! This event is documented to have happened somewhere between 11-14 million years ago. Wood, canes, cattails and creatures living in the bog were all petrified. The interesting colors of the material is caused by a combination of iron, aluminum, potassium, sodium and calcium replacing the original elements.
